Very ancient white grape variety from Mount Etna, most commonly found on the eastern slopes of Etna ( Viagrande, Milo). Takes its name from its plentiful production. Characterized by late-ripening as other grapes on Etna. Together with Catarratto blends into Etna Bianco and Etna Bianco Superiore. A noteworthy wine that is Carricante 100% is award winning Etna Bianco 2011 by Tenuta di Fessina called ‘A’Puddara’.
